The Paternayan Yarn Knot is ten cut strands of Persian yarn, conveniently knotted and labeled. The strands are approximately 30" long, and one knot is about 8 yards (over 7 meters). It is different from a "skein" in that the strands are pre-cut for convenience.

Persian yarn is well know the world over for its superiority for needlework such as needlepoint, embroidery, and cross stitch. Paternayan Persian yarn is a 3-ply, 100% wool yarn that exhibits great strength and resilience, which prevents the yarn from breaking and fraying during stitching. Due to the unusual whiteness of the lambs wool and the polishing of the fibers, the yarn has a luster that appears to "glow".

The yarn provides superior coverage on a wide range of canvas sizes by simply varying the number of strands used in the stitching.
